Mural Project
The NYC Department of Transportation is partnering with Groundswell Community Mural project to install a temporary artwork on jersey barriers located on Tillary Street between Adams Street and Cadman Plaza East in Brooklyn, NY. The barriers are located in a highly visible area, separating vehicular traffic from a bike pathway and adjacent sidewalk, leading to the Brooklyn Bridge entrance. Artist, Clare Herron, and Assistant Artist, Christopher Beck, are working with 10 high school students to design, fabricate, and install the artwork. A mural painted on parachute cloth will be installed on the traffic side of the barrier, while individual mosaic motifs will be installed on the bike side of the barrier. Images of bees and flowers will adorn the barrier in the upcoming weeks. Installation time (10 am - 6 pm); Event time (TBD)
