Upcoming Restrictions
Several restrictions are planned this week for construction of I-17 improvements. Please see below for information about restriction dates, times and alternate routes.
I-17 between Union Hills Drive and Pinnacle Peak Road
Saturday, Feb. 21 - Sunday, Feb. 22
10 p.m. - 9 a.m.
Northbound I-17 will be closed overnight between Union Hills Drive and Pinnacle Peak Road from Saturday night until Sunday morning to realign temporary concrete barrier and re-stripe travel lanes. Traffic will be detoured north on 19th Avenue to re-enter I-17 at Pinnacle Peak Road.
I-17 between Rose Garden Lane and Union Hills Drive
Sunday, Feb. 22 - Monday, Feb. 23
10 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Southbound I-17 will be restricted to one lane overnight between Rose Garden Lane and Union Hills Drive from Sunday night until Monday morning to realign temporary concrete barrier and re-stripe travel lanes. The Loop 101 ramps to southbound I-17 will also be closed. Ramp detour: westbound Loop 101 traffic will detour south on 19th Avenue to enter I-17 at Union Hills Drive; eastbound traffic will detour south on 27th Avenue to enter I-17 at Yorkshire Drive.
Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) between 27th and 23rd avenues
Wednesday, Feb. 25 - Thursday, Feb. 26
11 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Eastbound Loop 101 will be closed overnight between 27th and 23rd avenues from Wednesday night until Thursday morning for work related to the I-17 overpass bridge. Eastbound Loop 101 traffic will be detoured onto the 27th Avenue ramps.
Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) between 27th and 23rd avenues
Thursday, Feb. 26 - Friday, Feb. 27
11 p.m. - 5 a.m.
The eastbound Loop 101 frontage road (Beardsley Road) will be closed overnight between 27th and 23rd avenues from the night of Thursday, Feb. 26 until the morning of Friday, Feb. 27 for work related to construction of the I-17 overpass bridge. Traffic will be detoured south on 27th Avenue to Yorkshire Drive/Utopia Road and east to 23rd Avenue to reconnect with the frontage road.
While ADOT strives to inform the public about planned freeway restrictions, during any complex construction project, there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Please visit our Web site for the most current information about planned and ongoing I-17 restrictions.
Drivers should anticipate delays and allow extra time, or adjust travel to avoid closures and restrictions. ADOT appreciates your patience as we construct improvements on I-17.
