(VNA) - Officials of the Air Transport Working Group (ATWG) of ASEAN countries are discussing plans, methods, and a timeframe for air transport liberalisation and cooperation in the region between now and 2015.
The 12th ATWG is taking place in Viet Nams northeastern Quang Ninh province, beginning on September 20. The meeting also sees the participation of Japanese experts.
Participants of the three-day meeting will work to draft an ASEAN transnational agreement on air cargo-transport, which will serve as a legal tool to direct the execution of the roadmap to liberalise ASEAN airlines commercial transportation beyond 2008.
The establishment of an ASEAN air transport data bank will be brought into discussion at this meeting, according to the organising board.
